Three publications accepted at SIGCSE'26
A few weeks ago, I received the acceptance notifications for three publications at the ACM SIGCSE Technical Symposium 2026: two extended abstracts (posters) and one abstract for a Birds of a Feather session!
- The first extended abstract is titled “Exploring Differences in Perceived Confidence Between Native and Transfer Computer Science Students,” and is an analysis of some survey responses we collected back in 2023. This 2-page paper was written with Tanek Swain, Saili Karkare, and Niharika Misal.
- The second extended abstract is titled “Gender Differences in Class Participation in Online versus In-Person Core CS Courses,” and was written with Madison Brigham. I actually talked about this work in a blog post last year, and I’m so happy it will finally receive the visibility that it deserves!
- The BoF session will talk about “Sticky Analogies,” where participants share memorable analogies they use in their teaching.
